WORK DESCRIPTION:
    1. Develop, lead and manage all commercial activities of Penang Hill Corporation (PHC) to optimize the retail business performance and maximize revenue through identifying, developing and pursuing new revenue strategies for new and existing commercial business;
    2. Take responsibility for the commercial performance of all projects;
    3. Develop and implement an innovative, growth focused commercial strategy, focusing primarily on new product areas and emerging markets;
    4. Build strong business relationship with customers and stakeholders and otherwise assist to enhance Penang Hill Corporation’s business reputation;
    5. Provide sound retail planning and design advice to optimize retail revenue;
    6. Lead negotiations and prepare commercial offers, leases, licenses & agreements associated with the retail business, to maximize revenue from retail activities;
    7. Ensure commercially negotiated outcomes are properly documented based on suitable legal advice, ensure that these documents are approved in accordance with all legislation and regulations in force and ensure the commercial terms are administered;
    8. Develop and maintain an excellent understanding of the key customers to ensure that their needs are being met and that their business is retained;
    9. Develop standard and measures including quality of offer, customer service levels, operational efficiency and health and safety;
    10. Constructively challenge processes and management decisions to bring about service improvements;
    11. Ensure good relations and regularly communicate with all major stakeholders (internal and external) to achieve business objectives;
    12. Ensure that all commercial activities meet or improve on budget, cost, volume and efficiency targets (key Performance Indicators (KPIs)) in line with business objectives and benchmark against retail business of other public transportation facilities;
    13. Maintain an awareness and observation of Fire and Health & Safety Regulations and good practice requirements throughout the company;
REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Malaysian Citizen, 21 years ikd and above.
  2. Minimum 10 years of relevent experience for Grade 44 & Minimum 3 years relevent experience for Grade 41.
  3. Minimum barchelor Degree or professional qualification in business Studies, Accounting, Finance, Law or any other relevant field. MBA holders would have an advantage.
  4. Demostrated knowledge of commercial related legislation and business best practice and proven ability to apply both effectively.
  5. Strong background in economical analysis and business care development.
  6. Track record of managing major projects/ contracts via range of delivery models including private sector involvement and good understanding of domestic and regional business environment would be an advantage.
  7. Strong analytical skills, including strong ability to analyze and understand financial statements.
  8. Strong negotiation skills and communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English (both verbal and written). Additional language skills would be added advantage.
  9. Motivated and self-driven individual with a strong commitment to integrity, profesionalism and teamwork.
  10. Proven people management skills and strong presentation skills.
